In everything she does she is dedicated to children, youth and families.
Nick Dang: Distinguished Alumni Award Nick Dang, a former student in MCTC’s Construction Electricity program, received his certificate in 1985 and started on a path that would lead him to become the owner of a multi-million dollar construction electricity company, MTEC Electric. In fact, his company is listed among the top 25 largest companies of its kind in Minnesota. Nick probably never imagined this kind of success before coming to America from Vietnam. He grew up during the ravages of the Vietnam War where he experienced death of loved ones and imprisonment. He came to America without money and did not speak English. What Nick did have was determination to realize the “American Dream” with the help of MCTC he was able to realize that dream. This Minority Contractor of the Year award recipient finds it interesting to think that he used to listen to stories being read by his grandmother by the light of an oil lamp and now he is the owner of a large construction electricity company.
Rozenia Fuller graduated from MCTC in 1998. This single mother of two was a Kopp Scholar, president of student government, a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and of the USA All Academic Team. As a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, she received her bachelor degree in youth and family from Augsburg College. She also earned a master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. Rozenia is involved with the Minneapolis community in a variety of ways. As a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in north Minneapolis, her ministry service involves a partnership with the Global Day of Prayer and the Billy Graham Rock the River youth outreach. As a domestic urban missionary and co-leader for The 90 Days of Blessing, Rozenia has been instrumental in building cross-cultural, urban and suburban, reconciling relationships. Rozenia also serves with the Stairstep Foundation, Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches, Community Justice Program and the Redeemer Center for Life.
